Convergence : Cheshire, Lancashire, Wigan, Warrington, Manchester, and Liverpool.
Most networks are planned to share computer resources such as centralised storage of information, internet access and printers. New products now utilise IP technology to deliver new functionality for applications that have previously been supported independently with separate cabling (including CCTV, TV and telephones) and may now be incorporated into a single manageable solution.
IP Telephony provides communication using IP handsets that are connected to the network. HP ProCurve switches are ideal as they offer key functionality such as Power over Ethernet (PoE), Quality of Service (QoS) or Virtual LANs (VLANs) that optimises performance, at competitive rates and they are supported by an industry leading lifetime warranty (with next day advance replacement).
Networked IP cameras (Axis, Bosch or Sony) deliver IP Surveillance, with the images stored on a central server or locally on the camera (Mobotix) depending on the preference of the client and the size/complexity of the system. The power for the cameras may be delivered using the network cabling and PoE functionality (switch or PowerDSine midspan hub) with VLANs providing security, by isolating the images from the main network. IP TV delivers television programs across the network, using functionality for QoS and minimises the impact of the broadcast data for other users.
Marked site plans and a spreadsheet illustrate the scope of the project, with configuration, patching records and schematics.
