Deployment of IP Telephony and Video Conferencing

Following the successful upgrade of the core switch with a HP ProCurve chassis and the replacement of the older switches in key areas, the client wished to replace the existing telephone system with an IP Telephony system that utilises Voice over IP (VoIP) technology.

The new, smaller HP ProCurve switches were ideal for this client, as the Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches were suitable for the wall mounted cabinets and the functionality was perfect for delivering telephone connectivity across the site by utilising the VLANs for security and Quality of Service settings for signal quality. After the initial consultation period, the proposal was accepted and the changes implemented during the allocated timescales.

Topological Limited has also utilised VLAN technology to provide an independent Video Conferencing service across the site whilst isolating this from the main network traffic. This client has also benefited from other services, including regular growth and a support contract.
